° GET : A CITY GARDEN °

Folie1

Bonjour!

You might have seen my new balcony on Instagram already (aahh Instagram, always the first one to know), but I wanted to show you some more details since having a nice flowered balcony in a city is not very easy but very precious.

Our terrace is oriented south-west and we call it ” The Sauna” here at home, since everything just grills out there. It is just hot hot!

So this year, I got myself some good advice and bought some plants and flowers who like sun and heat a lot!

Here is what I got:

° DIY : STOP THE CABLE MADNESS °

Folie1

So I think I can speak for all of us when I say “enought with the cable salad I have at home! ” (or is it just me maybe…?)

Well, I’m sick of always looking for hours for my camera’s cable, or the one of for the external hard drive etc etc etc…

Yes, because we all have a big bag full of cables, all similar, half of them who could be thrown away, but no, you keep ‘em, just in case (you never know!).

But a few days ago I stumbled upon a photo that changed my life (and the one of my cables), which you have probably seen on Instagram already and I decided to try it myself.

Just differenciate the cables you look for the most by sticking some little colored pieces of tape on them and use a leather strap to roll them together and keep them organized.

Enough said, here are the photos of what I did!

Have a great week end peeps!

° GET : THE PERFECT BALCONY °

Folie1

With the spring season finally willing to come back into our loves, I started thinking about my balcony, still decorated with my xmas plants and some rests not really worth talking about.

But the problem is, I don’t know anything about plants and flowers. I had a big garden when I was a kid, but I have to admit, I always prefered watching Dawson’s creek on saturday afternoon then watering the hydrangeas. Shame on me!

The result of all of this obviously very rebelious chidlhood is that I need some serious help to plan my next balcony blossom.

Here is a great website I found, who actually understands people like me, and who sells ready to use containers and plants for your city garden. It’s not cheap, but looks great and qualitativ. And for those of you who do not enjoy gardening but still want to impress somebody or want to enjoy the occasional sundowner on their terrace, I can only recommend this website: The Balcony Gardener

What are your tips to get your garden/balcony ready for the season?

FIRST SEWING EXPERIENCE

photo 1-9

I did it! I used my dear sewing machine for the first time yesterday and did a little curtain for my bathroom like I had been planning for a while.

You know this place under the sink where you put all these things you want to hide. Well nobody sees them anymore, thanks to ma lovely curtain :)

I am also planning on taking a sewing class since I really don’t know anything about it, and then maybe, I’ll be able to do some great things that I might even wear ;) . Will keep you updated!
